Missionaries Ministering to the Imprisoned of Canada
The Crossman Family are missionaries serving under Prince Albert Baptist Church through Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples. We serve the incarcerated or addicted individuals in Saskatchewan. We also seek to help and encourage churches across Canada to become trained and active in prison and addictions ministries.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

A Walk of Hope, Help, and Recovery Starts Here

Devotions

Ps 119:105 says Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. From time to time I do morning devotions in facility seeking to encourage the men to walk with the Lord. I also seek to encourage each day those on the outside with precious jewels from his Word.

Chapel/Bible Study

Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ. We do Bible studies every week seeking to present a God who wants to walk with us and change us to His glory. Chapels are like a mini church service with hymns and preaching bringing spiritual insight to all who come to seek the Lord. Over the years, we have noted that many are attracted to Gospel music as it soothes their troubled heart and speaks to their soul.

Faith-Based Anger Management Classes

Cease from anger and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. (Psalm 37:8) We live in an angry world. The Bible has much to say about anger. My wife and I were trained in Anger Management by Almond Tree Ministries. Dr. S M Davis’ website and Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries also have excellent resources. Contact our ministry, our church, Dr S M Davis’ website, or Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries for help.

Faith-Based Addictions Classes

We use Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries materials designed for institutional use.  We have used them in four facilities in Ontario and Saskatchewan.  We praise the Lord for Him working in men and women’s lives.  We also use Rock of Ages Prison Ministry courses as there is a demand for them.  We have also taught the Reformers Unanimous Recovery material on First Nations Reserves as God has opened doors.

Training in Prison and Addiction Ministry

We have done conferences on Prison Ministry and Addictions all across Canada in the past.  Our church, Prince Albert Baptist Church, has allowed us to help train prachers, their wives, and a First Nations Chief in prison and faith based recovery ministry.  While here in Prince Albert, God has allowed us to train folks from Saskatchewan, Nunavut, and Manitoba.

Indigenous People Outreach – First Nations and Metis

We are blessed to love and minister to First Nations and Metis people from over 70 different reserves in Northern and central Saskatchewan. God has allowed us to take HIs message to reserves in four provinces.

Ephesians 3:20 says Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

God in Heaven desires to enable us to recover from the hold of bad habits or choices we make.

John 8:36 says If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

The battle is in the mind.  You need help to recover.  God’s help and wisdom is needed first.  You need to deal with the root cause of the bondage.

Be aware that some addictions may require a family doctor, such as addiction to prescription medication.  Withdrawal from some drug or alcohol addiction requires that you or your friend enter an addiction treatment facility.  Our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry could be a help. The Bible that gives a glimpse of God’s perspective on the different forms of bondage this world faces.

Mental Stresses

Emotional Stresses

Family Stresses

Peer Pressure

Turn to the Lord. Casting all your care (burdens) upon Him, for He careth for you. (I Peter 5:7)
It helps to talk. If we can assist you, please contact our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry.
Feeling overwhelmed? Hear my cry, O God: attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Psalm 102:1-2)
If you need help, please contact our our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry.
God has a plan in His Word for the family and for couples.  The Christian family is under attack from the devil and the world.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:31-32).  Please contact our church or our ministry if we are able to help.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)
A good Bible preaching church and be your best support group, positive peer pressure, and spiritual hospital.

Alcohol & Narcotics

Pornography / Sex

Food

Ephesians 5:16 says Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit.

God’s desire is that you and I be controlled by His Spirit, not alcohol or drugs.  Over 75 verses in the Bible give God’s perspective on drinking and its effects.  Pretty compelling evidence from God’s Word.  His desire is for us not to be controlled by drugs or alcohol.  God wants to heal our hurts.

Galatians 5:16 says This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

God has a wonderful plan for marriage and the family.  It is found in His Word.  The devil and our flesh seek to destroy that plan.  God desires to set us free from the bondage that following the flesh brings, and with His help,  to walk in liberty.  Thank God for forgiveness of sin through Christ’s precious blood.  If our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry can help you, let us know.
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, whose glory is their shame, who mind earthly things.

Wrong appetites can cause health problems and even death.  God’s greatest concern is our inner beauty and walk with Him.  A good doctor may be needed or a nutritionist.  If our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry could help, please contact us.

Anger

Internet / Gaming

Work

Psalm 37:8 says Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself in any way to do evil.

We live in an angry world.  Some people try to control life around them with anger.  There are more verses on anger in the Bible about God than man.  God is angry at sin.  God’s anger is always right; always controlled.  Two things many people struggle with are forgiveness and how to respond to the anger of others.  Drugs and alcohol magnify the effects of anger in lives.  Contact our church,  Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry.  Dr S M Davis has good DVDs that could help also.

I Corinthians 10:5 says Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing captive every thought into the obedience of Christ.

Computers, games, the internet, cell phones, and many other things can be addictive and control our lives.  They can be wonderful tools, but we have to control them.  We need to strive to maintain a Godly balance.  If our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry can help, let us know.

Ex 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work.

God set an example to show that we should work six days but have time for family and church. Workaholism is a very real problem in our world today.  While we need to work to provide for our families, it is critical that we keep our priorities straight.  It is God and the family that should be placed at the top of our list not accumulating money, possessions, or even career advancement.  God wants to deliver people from the painful addiction of workaholism.  If our church, Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministries, or our ministry can help you, please feel free to contact us.
